<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device configured to perform a temperature control so that a fixing performance may not be reduced when continuously feeding small-sized sheets of paper, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a center heater having a heat generating section for heating the center part in the width direction of a fixing member with power supply from an external power source; an end heater having a heat generating section for heating both ends in the width direction of the fixing member with power supply from the external power source; and an auxiliary heater for heating the fixing member with power supply from the capacitor; wherein at the fixing process to feed the small-sized sheet narrower than the width of the heat generating section of the central heater, the end heater is always turned off and the center heater and the auxiliary heater are turned on so as to heat the fixing member. When the discharge of the capacitor is stopped in the midst of the fixing process to continuously feed the small-sized sheets, the end part target temperature is increased after the discharge of the capacitor is stopped, and the end heater is turned on so as to heat the fixing member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
