PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method and an inspection unit for a ceramic roller which is capable of inspecting surface defect and an internal defect in a single sitting, in a short time, and free from restrictions due to the surface hue of the ceramic roller. SOLUTION: The inspection unit comprises a transmission probe 2 for imparting vibration to the roller 1 being an inspection object, a reception probe 3 for receiving data of a vibration wave form of the roller, and a processing device 4 for generating signal of vibration for transmission, and for processing reception signal by using the probes as mediums.
