PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper beam for automobile capable of increasing the bending strength while minimizing an increase in weight. SOLUTION: The bumper beam 1 for automobile having a collision wall orthogonal to the collision direction, a back wall located behind the collision wall in the collision direction and parallel to the collision wall, and a side wall for connecting the collision wall to the back wall comprises steel sheets 3, 4 having the yield stressσy1 and the specific gravityρ1, and an aluminum shape 2 having the yield stressσy2 and the specific gravityρ2. The steel sheets 3, 4 and the aluminum shape 2 satisfy the inequalityσy1/ρ1>σy2/ρ2, and at least one of the collision wall and the back wall is formed by using the steel sheets 3, 4.
