<p>A clamp device (C) has an annular grip member (2) capable of being inserted into a hole (H) in a workpiece (W) and gripping the inner peripheral surface of the hole, a clamp rod (3) having a tapered shaft section (31) fitted into and engaged with the grip member (2), a hydraulic cylinder (4) capable of axially advancing and retracting both the grip member (2) and the clamp rod (3), and a body member (1). The clamp device (C) further has a seating surface (18) formed on the body member (1) and allowing the workpiece (W) to be seated on the seating surface, and also has a clamp failure detection mechanism for detecting a clamp failure occurring when the grip member (2) is driven in the clamping direction by the hydraulic cylinder (4) via the clamp rod (3) to set the workpiece (W) to a state in which the workpiece (W) is seated on the seating surface (18).</p> |
