<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument supporting device, a method for manufacturing the surgical instrument supporting device, a valve module for connecting the surgical instrument supporting device, a supporting arm, and a surgical system. <P>SOLUTION: The supporting arm 1 comprises a flexible tubular main body, and a plurality of beads 3 which are contained in the tubular main body that is not substantially fluid-tight, are partially surrounded with a fluid in a first configuration, and evacuate at least some of the fluid in a manner to keep rigidity of the arm 1 increased in a second configuration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
