PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document reading device capable of highly accurate shading compensation, and an image forming device equipped with the document reading device. SOLUTION: The document reading device includes a document conveying means, an image reading means, and a reflecting member disposed opposite to the image reading means. The reflecting member has a rotatable polygonal pillar shape having a surface facing the image reading means. The document reading device confirms light reflected from the facing surface is confirmed while rotating the reflecting member by a pulse motor; stores a drive pulse value at which the quantity of the reflected light reaches its peak value in a storage means, and adjusts the angle of the facing surface based on the drive pulse value.
