<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy both extensibility of sensing systems and simplicity of a system configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The distributed sensing system includes a number of sensor nodes, a device database 208, a sensing module registry 210, a sensing needs monitor 204, and an automatic composer 202. The device database 208 is in communication with at least one among the sensor nodes and stores physical information on at least one sensor node. The registry 210 registers a number of software modules that are available for extracting information from a sensor node output. The monitor 204 makes a plurality of context pairs that represent application/user side sensing needs respectively into a list and maintain the list. The composer 202 generates a composition of software modules, at runtime, so as to satisfy the sensing needs, in cooperation with them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
