PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polymerization initiator carrying out the curing with a small added amount and small photoirradiation energy, and enabling the discoloration after the curing, and the oozing and evaporation of the photopolymerization initiator to be suppressed. SOLUTION: The photopolymerization initiator is represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>8</SP>are each a substituent, with the proviso that at least one of R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>8</SP>is a specific acyloxy group).
