PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a hydraulic cylinder capable of adjusting speed by accurately detecting position of a piston even in the case of using a cylinder tube formed from a magnetic body. SOLUTION: Deflection gauges 8, 9 and 10 are fitted to the periphery of a cylinder tube 2. Since the deflection amount of the deflection gauges 8, 9 and 10 is changed when a piston 3 passes through, a cylinder stroke is detected, and the moving speed of the piston 3 is adjusted in response to a result of the detection.
