PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet head, which can compactly and positioningly be housed to a carriage and the number of positioning faces provided on the carriage fixed thereto is reduced. SOLUTION: In a plurality of ink-jet heads 9, each of which is equipped with a nozzle plate 19 having a plurality of ink jetting holes 19a arranged in one direction L1 and with base plates 20 and 21 supporting the nozzle plate is such a manner that a plurality of its ink jetting holes face opposite to a recording medium and which are installed on a carriage 28 drivable towards a scanning direction L2 normal to one direction L1 towards the scanning direction L2, at respectively opposing surfaces S1 and S2 in base plates adjoining to each other in the scanning direction L2, a pair of projecting parts 21a at both the ends in one direction L1 of one opposing surface and a pair of planar parts 21b at both the ends in one direction L1 of the other opposing surface are respectively provided so as to abut the projecting parts and the planar parts against each other in the scanning direction L2.
