PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system which can distinguish a context automatically, and clarify a version relation about a document derived from the same document currently distributed in a network. SOLUTION: The document management system has a receiving means to receive an assignment document specified by a user, an extraction means to extract a signing information from the received assignment document, a searching means to search from a memory means the document which has the signing information which is in agreement with the signing information extracted by the extraction means inside of the signing information on the document that a version of the assignment document differs, and a display control means which performs controlling for associating and displaying the document information of the assignment document and the document that the version of the assignment document differs based on the searching result, and the version information determined based on the signing information.
