<p>Provided is a speaker comprising a diaphragm made of an elongated box-shaped pentahedron having one open face, edges for supporting the diaphragm vibrationally, a voice coil wound and fixed on such four side faces of the five faces constituting the diaphragm as are adjacent to the open face, and a magnetic circuit for applying a driving force to the voice coil. The diaphragm is constituted such that the height from the open face to the upper face confronting the open face has more than twice the thickness of the voice coil, such that the longer sides of the upper face have more than twice the length of the shorter sides of the upper face, and such that a plurality of reinforcing ribs composed of undulations are formed on the two side faces and the upper face forming the longitudinal direction of the diaphragm.</p> |
