<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detecting device for calculating a distance up to an object existing far away which is not directly measured from a radar receiving signal at high precision. <P>SOLUTION: The object detecting device includes: an inter-object relative position calculating part 30 for calculating relative position relationship between the object being a ranging object and a reference object making reference of ranging based on information on the image imaged by an on-vehicle camera 10; a reference distance measuring part 40 for finding the reference distance between the reference object selected as the reference of the ranging and an own vehicle based on a receiving signal obtained by an on-vehicle radar distance measuring device 20; and a distance calculating part 50 for calculating a distance up to the object from the own vehicle based on the relative position relationship between the object and the reference object and the reference distance up to the reference object from the own vehicle when the radar distance measuring device 20 does not measure a distance up to the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
