<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information display apparatus having a function for holding display contents without power supply and capable of reducing power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The information display apparatus includes a display part 105 having a medium capable of displaying an image based on image data and holding display contents without power supply and a control part 108 for outputting image data to the display part 105 and controlling the operation of the display part 105. The control part 108 has two reset operations, i.e. white reset for outputting image data of the highest gradation to all pixels of the display part 105 and resetting picture display to white display to erase the picture display and black reset for outputting image data of the lowest gradation to all the pixels of the display part 105 and resetting the picture display to black display to erase the picture display. When updating the picture display of the display part 105, the control part 108 selects either the white reset or the black reset based on image data of a present picture, and after executing the selection, outputs image data of a succeeding picture to update the picture display. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
