PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise a data cache hit rate in a resource-saving terminal such as a mobile phone having restrictions on a CPU and a memory. SOLUTION: This cache system for caching data includes a terminal and a server connected with the terminal through a network. The terminal has a cache part for caching data, and an application for requesting the data, to retrieve from the cache part the data requested by the application. As a result of retrieval, if the requested data is not found, the terminal inquires the server about the requested data. The server has a main storage part for recording data. The server extracts data related to the inquired data, acquires the requested data and the extracted data from the main storage part, and transmits the acquired data to the terminal.
