PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fence which can positively holds vertical members even if external force is applied thereto. SOLUTION: The latticed fence is set up by arranging a plurality of crosspieces in parallel with each other and extending in the horizontal direction, and the plurality of vertical members in parallel with each other, in a manner almost orthogonal to each other. At least one of the crosspieces is formed of: a frame body having formed therein vertical member insertion holes 11b, 12b for inserting the vertical members 20 therein; a slide member slidably arranged in the frame body and having formed therein vertical member fixing holes 13b in which the vertical members 20 pass; and slide fixing means for sliding the slide member with respect to the frame body to fix the vertical members 20 by means of vertical member fixing holes 13b. Each vertical member fixing hole 13b has: a vertical member insertion portion 13e which has a width dimension larger than the external diameter dimension of the vertical member 20; and a vertical member fixing portion 13f which has a width dimension almost the same as the external diameter dimension of the vertical member 20 due to deformation of at least one of the vertical member 20 and the vertical member fixing hole 13b by sliding.
