#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a pressure pipe (1) and a retractable and extendable piston rod (2) for force supporting of components movable relative to each other. Axes of operating magnets (8) are arranged on centre axes in a drilling (10), and the magnets are moved into a locking part (7) or the piston rod during a translational movement of the piston rod relative to magnetically operated switches (9) e.g. reed switch, along the gas spring axle. The switches are arranged in an inner side of a ring cylinder, which lies between an inner diameter of the pressure pipe and an outer diameter of the drilling. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Position switching device for a piston-cylinder unit i.e. gas spring (claimed), for detecting a position of a piston rod for a cylinder. Can also be used for a hydraulic cylinder. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The switches are arranged in the inner side of the ring cylinder, which lies between the inner diameter of the pressure pipe and the outer diameter of the drilling, thus detecting the relative position of the piston rod to the cylinder, and realizing an error inquiry.
