<p>An asynchronous mobile communication system for performing the handover between different frequencies by using the periodic measurement and a method thereof are provided to reduce the consumed amount of radio resources by minimizing the quality deterioration without using a compression mode. A beacon transmitter transmits a beacon signal including information about a target BS(Base Station)(Node B)(300) through the first frequency to an MS(Mobile Station)(100). In case the primary cell of the MS is a border cell(700) between a serving cell of the MS and a target cell, an RNC(Radio Network Controller)(400) periodically receives a measurement report about the first frequency from the MS and then performs the inter frequency handover to the second frequency from the first frequency based on the measurement report.</p> |
