It is possible to maintain a signal average amplitude almost at a constant value. A digital AGC device includes: a first multiplier for multiplying an in-phase signal by a filter output signal and outputting the result; a second multiplier for multiplying an orthogonal signal by the filter output signal and outputting the result; a judgment unit for enabling and outputting an enable signal when the output of the first and the second multiplier satisfy a condition decided by a threshold value signal; a square sum averaging unit which is used when the enable signal is valid for obtaining a temporal average of the sum of the square of the output of the first multiplier and the square of the output of the second multiplier and outputting the obtained average; a subtractor which obtains a difference between a reference signal and the calculation result of the square sum average unit and outputting the difference; and a loop filter for smoothing the output of the subtractor and outputting the smoothed result as the filter output signal. ® KIPO & WIPO 2009
