<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head having excellent durability to prevent the occurrence of cracks in a head body due to repeated use even if an FRP-made cover member is joined to cover an opening part provided in a crown part of a metal-made head body to increase the size of the head and reduce the thickness of the head body. <P>SOLUTION: In the peripheral edge part of the opening part 4 of the head body 2, at least a portion along a head face part 7 and a hosel part is formed as an edge overlay part 5, and the wall thickness of the edge overlay part 5 is set 130-300% of that of the head body 2 of the peripheral part of the edge overlay part 5 to heighten rigidity. Alternatively, a part of the head body 2 that is joined to a portion along a head face part 7 and a hosel part in the peripheral edge part of the cover member 10 is formed as a boundary overlay part, and the thickness of the boundary overlay part is set 130-300% of that of the head body 2 of the peripheral part of the boundary overlay part to heighten rigidity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
