PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treating composition which can enhance rust prevention performance by being applied on the surface of an aluminum steel material, an alloy comprising at least one metal component selected from zinc, aluminum and magnesium, a plated body using at least one metal component selected from zinc, aluminum and magnesium or the like, and firing them or the like. SOLUTION: The surface treating composition at least contains: (A) a composite compound having a structure where a titanium compound oligomer (a1) is brought into reaction with a silicon compound (a2) having one or more alkoxy groups in a molecule or a composition obtained by mixing them; and (B) a solvent.
