PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking device for steel pipe with which the appearance quality of a UOE steel pipe is improved and the manufacturing cost is reduced by marking identification codes making the depth of the marking and the position of the making uniform on the surface to be marked of the UOE steel pipe independently pf the degree of skillfulness of marking work of workers. SOLUTION: This marking device 3 for steel pipe includes: a making machine 4 having a marking pin for marking the identification codes on the surface 2a to be marked of the UOE steel pipe 2p; a first member 5 which is arranged abutting on the outside 2b of the UOE steel pipe 2; and a second member 6 with which the marking machine 4 is supported and also the marking pin is directed at the same angle to any surface to be marked of a plurality of kinds of the UOE steel pipe having different inclined angles by being arranged inclining to the first member 5 at an angle in accordance with the inclined angle which is formed by the outside 2b and the surface 2a to be marked on a longitudinal section of the UOE steel pipe 2.
