PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable switching processing to be stopped if there is the risk that switching shock may occur, even when there are switching instructions from the outside. SOLUTION: When instructions for performing schedule switching are received from the outside, a digital broadcast signal switching apparatus outputs a switching instruction signal from a control section 60 to a switching section 70, an active system output section 10 and a standby system output section 20. When the switching instruction signal is received, the switching section 70 carries out switching of output systems. In the digital broadcast signal switching apparatus, a decision section 40 compares a TS signal output from the active system output section 10 with a TS signal output from the standby system output section 20. When the decision section 40 determines that the TS signals of both the systems do not meet the condition on which switching shock does not occur, the digital broadcast signal switching apparatus stops switching the output systems of the TS signals in the switching section 70.
