PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent troubles occurring in a plotter output image by previously checking variations likely to occur in output resulting from an individual difference among devices on the image-reader side when executing reading/output of an original manuscript. SOLUTION: In an original-manuscript reading process, variations in size occurring in input image data read by a CCD are checked by comparing an input image data size with a separately-acquired original-manuscript size (S103) and the check result is reflected on the data transfer start conditions in a data transfer process so as to stop transfer/output of the input image data (S201). Consequently, it is possible to prevent troubles, occurring when the input image data size and the original-manuscript size do not coincide with each other, such that printing of an excessive number of prints more than the number of read sheets of the original manuscript, and black streaks in the page posterior end part.
