PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system which improves throughput and performs flexible error recovery processing. SOLUTION: A target device 4 outputs an error identification code showing a cause of an error to a master device 3 when the error occurs during data transfer. Contents of error recovery processing to be executed upon the occurrence of an error are previously set on the basis of the error identification code, and the master device 3 executes the previously set error recovery processing when an error occurs.
