PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore two elements which have not been read in a data set, and to save a consumption storage capacity. SOLUTION: A storage group configured of a plurality of storage devices is configured of a plurality of storage sub-groups, and each storage sub-group is configured of two or more storage devices. A sub-group storage area as the storage area of each storage sub-group is configured of a plurality of sub-storage area columns. A data set configured of a plurality of data elements configuring a data unit and a second redundant code generated based on the data unit is written in a sub-storage area column, and a compressed redundant code is generated based on two or more first redundant codes generated based on two or more data units in two or more storage sub-groups, and the compressed redundant code is written in a nonvolatile storage area different from the two or more storage sub-groups.
