PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hood for an endoscope which can be mounted onto various kinds of endoscopes with different diameter dimensions at the distal ends. SOLUTION: The hood 20 is attachable/detachable to/from the distal end 14 of an insertion tube of the endoscope, is formed of an elastic material and has a substantially cylindrical shape with both ends opened, wherein an outer circumferential surface of the hood is partially recessed toward an inner circumferential side, whereby in a part of the hood, diametrically deformed parts 22 are formed which are projected to the diametrically inner side than the peripheral areas.
