PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage subsystem minimizing the degradation of system performance while improving reliability and availability. SOLUTION: The storage subsystem includes a first controller for controlling a plurality of drive units connected through a plurality of first switch devices, and a second controller for controlling the plurality of drive units connected through a plurality of second switch devices corresponding to the plurality of first switch devices. The storage subsystem has connection paths for connecting the plurality of first switch devices and the plurality of corresponding second switch devices to each other. The storage subsystem specifies a fault part in the connection path upon detecting occurrence of a fault, and changes the connection configuration of the switch devices to bypass the fault part.
