A shower apparatus includes a spout unit that is able to reciprocate; a hydraulic drive device capable of causing the spout unit to reciprocate by utilizing flowing force of a fluid; a main channel communicating with a water supply channel to which the fluid is supplied, and the spout unit; a drive unit channel including a first drive unit flow path communicating with the water supply channel and the hydraulic drive device, and a second drive unit flow path for causing the hydraulic drive device to directly or indirectly communicate with the spout unit; a branch section for branching the channel into the main channel and the drive unit channel; and a first valve for controlling a flow rate of the fluid supplied from the branch section to the main channel in accordance with the reciprocating state of the spout unit. The first valve supplies water at a first flow rate from the branch section to the main channel when the water is discharged by causing the spout unit to reciprocate, and at a second flow rate, greater than the first flow rate, when the water is discharged without causing the spout unit to reciprocate. Accordingly, the shower apparatus is able to cause the spout unit to discharge the water when the spout unit is caused to stop reciprocating, and suppress reduction in a discharge amount of the water when the spout unit is switched from the reciprocating state to a state in which the spout unit has been caused to stop reciprocating.
