<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pintail breakage trace polishing device for a bolt shaft of a torque shear type high tension bolt, facilitating contact of a polishing tool to a breakage trace and efficiently polishing the breakage trace. <P>SOLUTION: The polishing device includes: a rotor 10, an adapter 12 detachable from a rotating shaft 11 of the rotor; a polishing tool 13 detachable from the rotating shaft through the adapter, and a holder 16 with a base end side detachable from the rotor and a distal end side covering an outer circumference of a nut 6 tightened to a bolt. The polishing tool rotates in the holder by rotation of the rotating shaft. When the distal end side of the holder covers the outer circumference of the nut to rotate the polishing tool, the polishing tool comes into contact with the breakage trace 7 to polish the breakage trace. The holder is formed by detachably jointing a main holder 31 with a joint holder 32, and the holder length is adjusted by adjusting the joint length.
