PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating delay in Time Of Arrival (TOA) of transmit signal by receiving the transmit signal via channel responsive with a plurality of antennas. SOLUTION: In this method, each received signal is correlated with transmitted signal to obtain estimated channel coefficient and estimated time of arrival (TOA). Additionally, noise variance is computed for each received signal. The channel coefficient is divided by the above noise variance to compute weight for each received signal. Those weights are added, then each weight is multiplied by the estimated time of arrival (TOA) to generate weighting estimated time of arrival also to be added. This added weighting estimated time of arrival is divided by the added weight to compute final arrival time estimate value for the transmit signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
