PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving a plasma display device capable of reliably lighting a cell to be lighted based on display data. SOLUTION: At an on-cell reset, a positive ramp wave of an ultimate voltage, which is larger than a maximum voltage of a sustain pulse, and smaller than an ultimate voltage of a positive ramp wave applied to a Y electrode at an all-cell reset, is applied to the Y electrode to make a weak discharge occur at a cell where it is non-lighting at a previous sub-field and a wall charge thereof is decreased due to an effect from an adjacent cell, thereby returning a wall charge state to a normal state.
