COMPOSITION FOR COATING, GLASS PLATE WITH ULTRAVIOLET RAY SHIELDING LAYER, AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass plate with an ultraviolet-shielding layer which has a high ultraviolet-shielding ability, especially almost completely shields UV-A and is excellent in mechanical durability, chemical resistance and light resistance. SOLUTION: The glass plate with an ultraviolet-shielding layer is composed of a glass base plate and an ultraviolet-shielding layer provided at least on side of the glass base plate. The ultraviolet-shielding layer is constituted of an ultraviolet-shielding organic compound and a silicon oxide-based matrix including organic components including an organic polymer. The content of the ultraviolet-shielding organic compound is≥1/100 in terms of the mass ratio of [ultraviolet-shielding organic compound/matrix]. The content of the organic components is≤50/100 in terms of the mass ratio of [organic components/matrix]. The percent light transmission of the glass plate with the ultraviolet-shielding layer for 400 nm wavelength light is≤3%. The difference in the haze values (numerical values represented by %) between before and after the wear test of 1,000 revolutions with a CS-10F wear wheel on the ultraviolet-shielding layer according to the JIS-R3212 (1998) is≤5.
