PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal for golf navigation, capable of automatically detecting courses and holes, and displaying distance to the edge of the green, or distance to the center of the green. SOLUTION: The portable terminal includes a radio connection section 13 and a wire connection section 14 capable of making bi-directional communication with a positioning satellite radio receiving part 12 and a desired external device concerning a golf course name, a course name, a hole number, a par number, and golf course positional information such as the latitude and the longitude of a tee ground center position, a tee ground circle, the latitude and the longitude of the edge of the green as a target position, and the latitude and the longitude of the center of the green. The portable terminal includes a sensor part 11 capable of determining a current bearing, a processing part 7 capable of performing positioning processing, communication processing with the external device, reading/writing information to/from a memory part 10, and an operation part 9 to change display on a display part 8 to display positioning information and bearing information. Distance from the current position to the target position in the hole, the par number, the time, and the direction of a target position are displayed for assisting golf play.
