The device (10) has a food transport container (12) made of plastic with insulation walls and a closeable inner chamber for accommodation of a gastronorm container (18). A holding device (16) is arranged on the transport container and provided with a recess for the gastronorm container. The holding device is fixed against slipping by mutual adjustment of the food transport container and the holding device in a force-fit and/or form-fit manner. The holding device is detachably arranged in the transport container without using tools. The holding device is made of metal i.e. stainless steel. The heating device is designed as a glass ceramic hob, induction heating plate and gas-operated grill.
