PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection apparatus for a molding machine in which an injection plunger can be suitably advanced by a rotation type motor. SOLUTION: The injection apparatus for a molding machine DC comprises: a sleeve 3 communicated with a cavity Ca; the injection plunger 5 sliding inside the sleeve 3 to a cavity Ca side and capable of injecting a molten metal in the sleeve 3 to the cavity Ca; a first motor 13; and a transmission mechanism 15 converting the rotation of the first motor 13 into a translation motion to drive the injection plunger 5. The transmission mechanism 15 comprises: a rack 37 provided fixedly to the injection plunger 5 and elongating to the advancing/retreating direction of the injection plunger 5; and a pinion 35 meshed with the rack 37 and rotationally driven by the first motor 13.
