<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor element and gas sensor capable of burning unburnt gas in gas to be measured and suppressing the drop of response speed of the sensor without uniformly distributing or supporting noble metal particles in a particle distribution layer. <P>SOLUTION: This gas sensor element 10 for detecting a specific gas component contained in the gas to be measured has a first electrode (detection electrode) 131 disposed on a solid electrolyte layer 111, a second electrode (reference electrode) 132 made as an opposite electrode and disposed on the solid electrolyte layer, and a particle dispersion layer 160 interposed between the outside and one of the electrodes so that the gas to be measured is introduced from the outside and passes to at least one electrode of the first electrode and the second electrode. At least one type of noble metal particles chosen from a group consisting of Pt, Pd, Rh and Ru is dispersed and arranged only on a surface layer region 16 of the particle dispersion layer 160. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
