<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive display device of high definition, multiple colors and low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes a display panel 110, a scanning circuit 109 and a data-line driving circuit, and is provided, external to the display panel, with a controller IC 102 having a display memory 111, an output buffer 112 and a controller 113. The display panel 110 has peripheral circuits including the data-line driving circuit and the scanning circuit, which are fabricated in the same process as transistors constituting pixel switches; and the data-line driving circuit includes a DAC (digital/analog converter) circuit 106 converting display data represented by a digital signal to an analog signal. The width of a bus for data transfer between the controller IC 102 and the data-line driving circuit of the display panel is configured in such a manner that data of a greater number of bits is transferred in parallel by a single transfer than is transferred by a bus between the controller and a host device so as to reduce an operating frequency of the data-line driving circuit, and that wiring lines transmitting a display signal do not intersect wiring lines transmitting other display signals. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
