<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To play back stored contents so as to be easily comprehended by storing the contents within a small storage capacity. <P>SOLUTION: A video recording unit 21 for storing broadcast contents broadcasted on TV creates contents 22a as a set of (p) items of caption information decoded by a caption processing unit 16 (wherein (p) is a natural number equal to or more than 2, p≥2) and one still picture decoded by a decoder unit 15 to store them in a content storage unit 22. A playback unit 23 reads out the stored contents 22a, creates a virtual screen constituted of the (p) items of caption information and the one still picture, and displays the virtual screen on a display unit 17.
