PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily start a load low in start-up resistance with a power supply using a boost converter without limiting rush current and prevent destruction of a switch due to rush current. SOLUTION: The boost converter is so constructed that: a series reactor L1 and a rectifying device D1 are connected in series between one input terminal Ti+ and one output terminal To+; a switch SW1 is connected between a common line and the output side of the series reactor L1; and a capacitor C1 is connected between the common line and the output side of the rectifying device D1. The output of the rectifying device D1 is smoothed through the capacitor C1 by turning on and off the switch SW1. The voltage of the input terminals Ti+, Ti- is thereby boosted and output to the output terminals To+, To-. A power-on switch SW3 is connected to one output terminal To+ of this boost converter 2. The power-on switch SW3 is turned on based on a signal of power on and then the on/off operation of the switch SW1 of the boost converter 2 is started. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
