PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knife driving device of a sewing machine which realizes transmission from a knife oscillating shaft in a sewing machine frame to a movable knife provided in a presser foot without spoiling internal and external sealing of a head part, and can achieve a high operation speed. SOLUTION: In the knife driving device of the sewing machine which makes the movable knife 17 held by the presser foot mounted on the lower end of a presser bar 13 to move reciprocatively by transmitting repetitive rotation of the knife oscillating shaft 2 in the sewing machine frame, a transmission cylinder which internally holds a support bush 6 for supporting the lower part of the presser bar 13, vertically penetrates the head part on the tip end of the sewing machine frame, and is provided with a knife bracket 30 on the lower end is provided. By repetitively rotating this transmission cylinder by the transmission from the knife oscillating shaft 2, the movable knife 17 mounted on the knife bracket 30 moves reciprocatively.
