PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a decorative metal article whose working method is simple and which can be mass-produced and make a decoration such as a jewel or the like look more beautiful compared to the way of fixation of a conventional embedding type, and the decorative metal article. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the decorative metal article 4 includes; a plate molding step of preparing a plate 1 by forming a thermoplastic composition containing at least one kind of powder selected from silver, gold, platinum, copper and the alloy and an organic binder into a plate shape; a sticking step of sticking the plates 1 and 1 at least at one part other than the end parts in the state of clamping at least one decoration 3 between the end parts of the at least two plates 1 and 1; a composition drying step of drying a molded object which has passed through the sticking step; and a composition firing step of firing the molded object which has passed through the composition drying step.
