PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and quickly detect spoofing by a photograph. SOLUTION: An authentication object determination unit 9 compares a combination of an adjustment state (light amount of a light emission unit 1) of an light exposure amount obtained from an analysis unit 6 and a face size Fn obtained from a photographing object analysis unit 8 with a correspondence relation stored in a memory. The determination unit 9 determines that a face area is a real face (living body) if the combination of the face size Fn and the light amount agrees with the correspondence relation stored in the memory, and determines that the face area is not the real face, namely, is a photograph if the combination does not agree with the correspondence relation.
