PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a denture base, which contains a sufficiently dissolved methacrylate polymer or methacrylate copolymer, is stable for a long period of time, and is excellent in durability. SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing the material for the denture base, characterized by mixing a methacrylate with a same weight or less of a methacrylate polymer or methacrylate copolymer and allowing the mixture to stand until sufficiently dissolving the polymer or copolymer, further mixing the solution with 20 to 80 wt.% of a radically polymerizable urethane acrylate oligomer, urethane methacrylate oligomer, urethane acrylate oligomer or urethane methacrylate monomer, 0.1 to 2 wt.% of a polymerization initiator or photosensitizer, and 0.1 to 2 wt.% of a reducing agent and allowing the mixture to stand until a gel-like compound is separated from the solution, and then extracting the separated gel-like compound.
