<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device, wherein specific passengers such as the disabled and the aged can easily use chairs within a cage, to greatly alleviate physical and mental strain imposed them concerning movement to destination floor. <P>SOLUTION: The elevator device which comprises a fingerprint authentication system 1 for landing-call registration, a detection sensor detecting presence of passengers in a cage, chairs 5 provided in the cage to be easily ejected or retracted, a chair drive control system 9 which controls ejection or retraction of the chairs 5 in the cage, and a direct operation control system 8 which, when the fingerprint authentication system 1 performs landing-call registration, starts direct operation to the landing-call registered by the fingerprint authentication system 1, if the detection sensor detects absence of passengers in the cage.
