PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the manufacture of a blow molded article having a cushioning material, which is raised from the periphery, provided to a part of its surface and to make the cushioning material of the blow molded article hard to turn up. SOLUTION: The blow molded article 1 wherein the cushioning material 20 is built up from the periphery of the cushioning material 20 is manufactured by: arranging the cushioning material 20 restorable from compression by elasticity at a part of the cavity surfaces 121 and 131 of an openable mold 110 forming a cavity CA1; bonding the cushioning material 20 to the resin molding material PA1 under pressure by pressing a resin molding material PA1 expanded into a hollow shape to the cavity surfaces 121 and 131 of the closed mold 110; and restoring the cushioning material 20 in a compressed state by elasticity by opening the mold 110.
