PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured so that an optionally-shaped biological information reading device prepared for enhancing security can be installed therein, and operability is improved by reducing the reciprocating motion of the user's arm upon operating the apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 includes: a support table 6 installed separately from an operating panel 5; the biological information reading device 7 disposed on the support table 6, and for reading the biological information from fingers of the user's hand; and an operating member 8 disposed on the support table 6. The operating member 8 is arranged in such a position that in a state where the biological information reading device 7 can read the biological information from the finger of user's one hand, operation is possible by other fingers of the same hand.
