PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner, for efficiently manufacturing the toner having excellent image developability and a sharp grain size distribution of dispersed droplets in a granulation step of dispersing a polymerizable monomer composition in an aqueous dispersion medium to obtain dispersed droplets. SOLUTION: The method includes the granulation step of dispersing a polymerizable monomer composition containing a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in an aqueous dispersion medium, wherein the granulation step is carried out stepwise by using a granulation apparatus having high shear force, including both of a first process section having a structure suitable for mixing the aqueous dispersion medium with the polymerizable monomer composition and a second process section suitable for adding high shear to the polymerizable monomer composition for granulation.
