摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a foreign substance having entered from a space between both cup parts 11 and 21 from intruding in the inside in the radial direction even if design change for an existing member is not carried out, in an automatic tensioner that is structured such that an arm member 20 swingably supported to a base member 10 is rotationally energized in a belt pressing direction by a torsion coil spring 50 arranged in an internal space formed between the cup part 11 of the base member 10 and the cup part 21 of the arm member 20. SOLUTION: This automatic tensioner is provided with a foreign substance prevention member 30 arranged in the internal space between both the cup parts 11 and 21 to cover a coil part 51 of the torsion coil spring 50 from the outside in the radial direction, and restraining a foreign substance having entered in the internal space from the space between the cup parts 11 and 21 from intruding in the inside in the radial direction.
