PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove a plate from a wall surface without damaging the plate and the wall surface when removing the plate mounted on the wall surface. SOLUTION: The removal tool 10 includes a tabular spatula member 12 inserted into a gap between the wall surface and the plate, and a grip member 14 mounted on a rear end of the spatula member 12. The spatula member 12 includes a bent part 16 bent along the width direction of the spatula member 12. The width of a tip end 12a of the spatula member 12 is selected so as to be a quarter or more but half or less of the longitudinal length of the plate. A working space can be provided between the bent part 16 of the spatula member 12 and the wall surface of the grip member 14. Tension caused by the removal tool during removal work can be prevented from being concentrated in one location of the plate by setting the width of the tip end 12a of the spatula member 12 to a prescribed width.
